Set up GitHub Copilot CLI
Copy this, swap in your token, and follow the steps.
copilot mcp add --transport http --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_NOTESMAKR_TOKEN" notesmakr https://notesmakr.com/api/mcpCreate a token
In the Notesmakr app, open Settings → Connect AI assistants and tap Create token. Copy the token — it is shown only once.
Add the server
Run the command above, with your token in place of YOUR_NOTESMAKR_TOKEN. It saves the server to ~/.copilot/mcp-config.json, so it works in every folder.
Check it is connected
Run copilot mcp get notesmakr, or type /mcp show notesmakr inside Copilot CLI.
Ask for a note
Ask: "Make a Notesmakr note explaining Git rebase, with 8 flashcards."
Server URL: https://notesmakr.com/api/mcp. Never share your token or commit it to a code repository.
What to ask
- “Make a Notesmakr note on photosynthesis with 10 flashcards, a quiz and a mind map.”
- “Make a Notesmakr flashcard deck of 15 fill-in-the-blank cards for the key terms in this chapter.”
Each note uses 1 note from your Notesmakr plan. Flashcards, quizzes and mind maps attached to it are free.
Other assistants
Setup guides for every assistant are on the MCP server page.
