Set up Codex
Copy this, swap in your token, and follow the steps.

In the Notesmakr app, open Settings → Connect AI assistants and tap Create token. Copy the token — it is shown only once.
Add the server
Open ~/.codex/config.toml (create it if needed) and add the lines above, with your token in place of YOUR_NOTESMAKR_TOKEN. The Codex CLI, the IDE extension and Codex in the ChatGPT desktop app share this file.
Check it is connected
Start Codex and type /mcp. "notesmakr" should be listed with its tools.
Ask for a note
Ask: "Make a Notesmakr note on how hash maps work, with 8 flashcards."
Server URL: https://notesmakr.com/api/mcp. Never share your token or commit it to a code repository.
What to ask
- “Make a Notesmakr note on photosynthesis with 10 flashcards, a quiz and a mind map.”
- “Make a Notesmakr flashcard deck of 15 fill-in-the-blank cards for the key terms in this chapter.”
Each note uses 1 note from your Notesmakr plan. Flashcards, quizzes and mind maps attached to it are free.
