}Create a token
In the Notesmakr app, open Settings → Connect AI assistants and tap Create token. Copy the token — it is shown only once.
Add the server
Open the MCP config file from the … menu at the top right of the agent panel → MCPs → Open MCP config file (~/.config/devin/mcp_config.json on macOS and Linux, %APPDATA%\devin\mcp_config.json on Windows). Add the entry above, with your token in place of YOUR_NOTESMAKR_TOKEN.
Check it is connected
Save the file and refresh the MCP list. "notesmakr" should show its tools.
Ask for a note
Ask: "Make a Notesmakr note explaining this API, then add a quiz."
Server URL: https://notesmakr.com/api/mcp. Never share your token or commit it to a code repository.
Windsurf was renamed Devin Desktop in June 2026. The config format is the same.
What to ask
- “Make a Notesmakr note on photosynthesis with 10 flashcards, a quiz and a mind map.”
- “Make a Notesmakr flashcard deck of 15 fill-in-the-blank cards for the key terms in this chapter.”
Each note uses 1 note from your Notesmakr plan. Flashcards, quizzes and mind maps attached to it are free.
